Day Reporting Center
The Day Reporting Center will serve youth 12-17 from all parts of Valencia County or youth who typically attend school within Valencia County. The DRC has the support of the Courts, JPO, and School Resource Officers. The DRC will assist youth in connecting to resources which can assist them in meeting their goals of decreasing substances, finding employment, accessing medical/behavioral health services, and working on school. All services will be provided onsite. The DRC's will focus on bringing resources to the youth to help decrease future system contact. DRC staff will stay in close contact with juvenile probation with a daily attendance log. The maximum number of youth who could utilize this program at any given time is ten. Youth from Juvenile Probation would take priority and then referrals from the schools. Youth referrals would include youth with weapon offenses, violent outbursts, severe substance misuse, suicidal ideation, and behavioral health concerns. When these youth are not in school, they are more likely to cause additional issues in community to include starting fires, property damage, drug dealing, completing suicide, domestic violence, assault etc. Program participants will be prioritized based on level of self-harm and danger to the community.
